Animal Ethics
Bioproperties is an accredited animal research establishment under the Animal Research Act 1985 (NSW). In compliance with the Act, Bioproperties has established and maintains an Animal Ethics Committee to consider, and if so advised, approve applications to use animals for scientific purposes. The Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (8th edition 2013) provides the ethical framework and governing principles for the care of such animals and, amongst other things, the role and operation of the Committee. Paragraph 2.2.18 requires that Bioproperties make the Terms of Reference of the Committee publicly available. The link below is to the most recent version of the Terms of Reference.
